Biography
Susie first became interested in
health and the human body whilst studying
Physiology at university in Leeds, graduating in
2003. She went on to complete a Diploma in
Holistic Massage at the Bristol College of
Massage and Bodywork (BCMB). Alongside this,
and after suffering from lower back pain in
2004, Susie began attending regular yoga
classes. She chose to train to be a yoga
teacher in 2007 and her style of teaching is
interdisciplinary. She teaches both flow yoga -
which is dynamic in style and inspired by the
music, and Restorative yoga - which is subtle,
yet profoundly effective and relaxing.
Susie undertook an intensive two year programme
in Macrobiotics and Life-counselling at the
International Macrobiotic School in 2006. This
course included studies in Eastern facial
diagnosis and the five transformations, Tom
Monte’s Five Defences, counselling skills,
cooking skills, and diet.
In order to address mind-barriers and
psychological blockages a person may have, Susie
uses Neuro-Linguistic
Programming.
Susie continues to develop her skills as a
therapist by regularly attending continued
professional development workshops. These
include advanced massage workshops and
supervision at BCMB, and
specialist interest yoga
modules. She has a
regular yoga practice
and attends local
classes, and workshops
in Devon, Somerset and
London.
